Yuriy Gerbey, known by his stage name CATMOONK, is a music producer, songwriter, singer and DJ whose tracks and performances seamlessly combine academic artistry with the underground scene. His work is a synthesis of years of experience as a music hall artist, opera soloist, and rock band frontman.
About the Artist
Iurii began his musical journey at the age of 6 and has followed a highly professional path. After graduating from piano school at the age of 11, he continues his ensemble pop vocal lessons6 while also performing as a soloist in a pop vocal studio. Then he studied at the Moscow Young Actor's Theater. At the age of 17, he was the frontman of two rock bands, and his energy and charisma continue to shine in his current projects. Iurii studied at the Gnessin State Musical College and graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) as a music theater artist. He's worked as a musical soloist and an opera singer. He also sang a lot of jazz.
His first attempt at writing dance electronic music was at the age of 19. And after a long journey he returned to this genre with all the passion and experience. Bringing to his work the lyricism and melody of classical music, the energy of rock music, the beauty of jazz and the groove of hip-hop music.
His project CATMOONK showcases a unique approach to music, offering hybrid live shows that combine original tracks with live vocals. Iurii’s performances have captivated audiences at festivals such as Trip, Odyssey, Butterfly, White Fest, Zvook and energizing dancefloors with his signature sound.

CATMOONK is the author of numerous successful tracks that resonate with listeners worldwide. His track “Turn Around”, a collaboration with Anturage and Alexey Union, released on the TalkTalk Records label (a sublabel of BAR 25), became a true hit of 2024 in Russia.
Another prominent release, “Circle”, showcased CATMOONK’s talent as a vocalist and lyricist, reaffirming his ability to create compositions that captivate audiences.
CATMOONK was also featured in the compilation “Aquarium 2024”, released by JEAHMON! Records, which ranked 5th among the top 10 best-selling indie dance labels of the year.
